Farm Girl Vintage Friday

This is what else I have been doing this week...

I made a couple of barns for my Farm Girl Vintage

And a couple of Silo blocks also!

Yikes... sorry for the blur!

And then I made some tree blocks.

I think it is possible that this quilt will get done this year!

I am glad I waited though, because I saw somebody's FGV quilt and
it inspired me to continue on and her layout was amazing also.
(I pinned in on my Bee In My Bonnet board on Pinterest)

Have a good weekend!

Pink Soccer Balls and Pam Kitty Morning!

Evie is 4 now and is playing soccer!
It is too much fun!
It also brings back memories when her dad
and her uncles use to play soccer on the same field.
Oh goodness... I have missed being on the sidelines!

What is even more fun is that my kids are on
the sidelines along with the hubs and me.

That is just what you do on Saturday mornings, right?

I made one of these cute Zakka sewing caddy's.
They are addictive!

I am suing my PKM stash...
I have been hoarding these fabrics for a long time...
but I am glad that they are being used...

I had a painters drop cloth that I washed the heck out of
and used up a bottle of fabric softener as well.

It came out like linen... well not just like linen...
but it has great texture and softness.

I love it!

I also have a start on my Nana and Company
little pillow.

I plan on making a couple... or a dozen...
of these! Well, a couple to start with anyway!

I will embroider...
You are my Sunshine, My only sunshine on it
for Elsea

and on Evie's I will be adding  I love you a bushel and a peck.

"their songs"!

I have been doing some serious catching up on
my Farm Girl Vintage also.

I will be back to show more tomorrow!

Have a good evening!

First Weekend of Fall Ahead!

Image result for the pattern basket pumpkin seeds quilt

I have a new
layer cake of Chestnut Street that
is calling to me...
so how could I resist this
cute Pumpkin Seeds
pattern by The Pattern Basket?
I have been watching these pumpkins pop up on
Instagram over the past
week or so and I love each and
every one of them!

I have big plans on playing in the
sewing room over the weekend...
however, I also feel a cold coming on...
so,
my plans might get derailed.
I am keeping my fingers crossed that I will
not succumb to it!

I also had a little bit of trouble
when the announcement
came for new
programs; 2017 edition!

(photo borrowed from Fig Tree & Co.)

I signed up for Nantucket.
I only allowed myself
one new BOM because, well, I
still have the two
I am doing this year to catch up on!

I hope you have fun plans for the weekend...
it's the first weekend of Fall!!!

First Day of Fall: Show and Tell

I had family come up for a visit last week...
consequently, there was a cleaning and shopping to do
beforehand and the fun and activities that come
with having a house guest.
I took time off from work so I could really
enjoy the visit!

However, none of those activities
have allowed me to step one foot inside
my sewing room!
But now
 I think I have recovered...
and I am thinking
about fall!

Today, I thought I could at least
share a few quilts of Autumn Past!

Of course that includes Fig Tree & Co. because
Fig Tree and Fall just seem to go together!

Then there was this fun fall quilt I made last year...
The fabric is Sweet As Honey and there is a video of the
pattern here.

Here is another, slightly different kind of
 Autumn quilt I made...
I think it was the year before last.

I am way behind on quilt these!!!

Happy first day of Fall!

Autumn is Calling

A change is in the air
and

I have been trying to get my head
wrapped around my
annual retreat and all of my
  preparation towards that.

The retreat is towards the end of October
and even though I teach a
couple of projects over that weekend
I like to bring something to work on also.

This year I thought it would be a good time to
release my inner Knotty Girl!

Have you seen this?
There is a new book that has
been released by Martingale...

and it's by Kathy Schmitz

I have been pouring over this beautiful book!
There are lots of sweet little projects in the
book... lots of inspiration...
and as a surprise (to me) the
embroidery projects are

simple enough for someone like me who is a beginner

and I love
the
color that Kathy has added
to her projects in the book too!

(all photos by Brent Kane for Martingale Publishing)

How adorable is this?
When you open it there is a cute
oak leaf to put your needles in!
So perfect for fall... acorn and leaf!

Kathy's sweet artwork
is so nicely presented in the book!

Seriously ... don't you want one of these?

I like the instant gratification of a smaller project...
don't these look very doable
and gift-able keepsakes?!?

There is a nice variety of projects

There is a tote bag wall hanging pillow and
pincushion aside from the sweet ones
I'm sharing with you here!

These are magnetic needle keepers!
I want one of these!!! At least one!

The illustrations in this book
 are beautifully done
and the stitching
directions are very clear...

I think I will only have
 trouble deciding which projects
to work on first!
But
for right now...
I love looking at this book on my coffee table!!!

The Changes September Brings

I enjoyed the last holiday weekend of summer...
there were a few get-togethers with family and friends...
and wrangling gran littles too!

Tuesday was little Miss Evie's first day of...
well,
you can read the sign!

She grew up!
Just like that... it truly was in the blink of an eye!

Little sister... Elsea
is a character...

obviously making her plans for the day!

sun hat, floatation device, lotion...
that's my kind of day!!!

I think she will do just fine without her sister...

a brief chance to be the "only child"...
even if it is for just a few hours a day!

I have been making slow progress on my Dresden project (s).
I didn't get them finished like I had hoped I would...
that was my goal for the month of August.

So now that list became my Aug/Sept goals! ha

I have also been playing with that bundle of fabric I shared on the last post.
I can't share it yet...
but it's going to be fun!

Today is Throwback Thursday!

I'm sharing Harvey

This giant sized basket should go nicely with my giant Swoon quilt!

Sweet Treats and Sneak Peeks

Happy September!

I thought it would never get here!

There is something else

I have been waiting for...

Sew Cherry 2 Yardage <br/>Lori Holt for Riley Blake Designs

 the new edition of
Sew Cherry to arrive... and was so happy
to have a little treat of
the Lori Holt tins to tide me over until it
comes out!
They can be found at Fat Quarter Shop!

Don't you love the gingham?!?

These 6 tins can be purchased all in a group or
one by one, so you can pick your favorite colors!

The 6 pack are for those of us who just can't decide!

The red tin comes with sweet little note cards inside!

I put my vintage seam bindings inside one tin.
I think they look cute in there!

The tins are in of the Bee In My Bonnet signature colors...
which are simply vintage goodness!

I have some other eye candy to share with you...
Shhhh....
here,
you can
take
peek!

Sweet, right?
I'm going to have fun playing with these!!!

But I won't be able to show you more for a couple of weeks!
