My 100th Post Giveaway & A Story

I am excited to say that it's my 100th post today!
What a perfect week for this... not only is it Thanksgiving
but on Thursday it will also be my 13th wedding anniversary!
Sooo, I'm hosting a little give-away
to show my appreciation and gratitude
because you all seriously make each day special for me!
Right now I am having a love interest with French General!
So, for the give away I made a loyalty wallet, to keep your punch cards in. A pincushion out of Rouenneries fabrics using the Sugar Pumpkin pattern by Fig Tree Quilts.
Also you will win the wonderful French Inspired Home book by Kaari Meng.
I love this book!

So here is how we are going to do this:
#1 Post a comment telling me what your favorite holiday treat is.
That will get you entered.
(if you don't have a blog, just be sure to leave me your email address
so I can let you know if you win)
#2 Blog about my giveaway... just take my little picture & link it back to here.
Let me know that you did it & that will get you 2 more entries.
That's it! The giveaway will continue all week until 11/29. Then I will post the winner next Monday November 30th. That will be the day before the new Schnibbles parade!
You don't have to do this one, but it would be nice:
If you are not already a follower (friend), I would love it if you became one.

Now, I wanted to tell you the story that I promised you last month:
This is the story from my friend Kassy
that she told while sharing these tea towels made by her mother.
Kassy wrote:
The story of the spy is a little convoluted!
Anyway, the story goes that an FBI agent came to my grandmother's house
and asked my mom, who was in Junior College, for her help.
They needed proof that a suspected spy, Velva Dickinson,
was sending troop information to Germany through dolls she was selling.
My mom had ordered paper dolls from her.
She also collected stamps and my grandmother
let her keep them in a drawer in her china cabinet.
The FBI needed something typed from the typewriter used by the spy
and mom found an envelope the order came in and it had the typed address!
Later mom saw in the newspaper that she had been arrested.
Also, several years later
the same FBI agent came and thanked mom
and asked if they could keep the envelope.
So that is the story.

The only thing we know about the tea towels is that she made them during WWII!

Wonderful, happy 100th to you, Sinta, with many more.

I came by you unexpectedly through
"A Year of Schnibbles" and so glad I did because, even though I joined late, I am so happy doing Schnibbles. I have the first two to do and will do so come year end.

My favorite holiday treat is a treat for everyone - homemade pies - I LOVE making them - BUT - I love to eat them too. LOL Tonight I'm doing my Apple Pie, tomorrow will be chocolate cream and a Vanilla cream and two pumpkins. And if I have enough bananas left after making banana bread tonight as well - I want to also do a banana cream pie too.

Oh how I love to make pies - my favorite treat - to ME and to OTHERS!

I love just about any of the traditional food of the holidays, but one thing always remains the same! My paternal grandmother "Mama Cliffie" made a cranberry congealed salad that we all loved, and as far as I know I am the only one who still makes it. I even have the pink depression glass bowl that she used, so that makes it very special, too!

I'm going to go post about you on my blog. Be right back! Becky G.
