And Summer Sewing Begins!

The time was now or never... so over the weekend I dug into my red
white and blue stash and made a couple of little
I have been wanting to making these since last year...
and I am so happy that I got them done!

I got them done before July too!!!

Another little project
was some place mats made from fabric panels.

I am trying to lend a hand  with some book keeping and
ordering etc for our local quilt shop. The owner has
been in the hospital... what was suppose to be for 3 weeks has
now been well over 2 months.

Tomorrow kicks of the Row by Row
On the Go for 2017...
and I ordered these license plates
for the event! We also created a cute
vertical row for the RxR.

Since our town is located just before the south
entrance to Yosemite... it seemed
like this year's theme was perfect for us!

I also made a new summer sling bag using my
favorite pattern! I still love the old purse... especially since
the lace trim on it was hand made and purchased in Italy.
This year I simplified the purse and just used
the fishy fabric... perfect for the lake!

Here is my entry table... decorated for the 4th!

Happy first day of summer!

Jelly Roll Railway with the Fat Quarter Shop

Today is
F riday
which means
F un day
and by fun... I mean
F at Quarter Shop
kind of fun!

Today they are sharing the Jelly Roll Railway!

This is a
F ast
which means
F un
pattern..
that you can enjoy playing
with... all you need is a couple dozen
jelly roll strips!

I was ever so kindly
asked to play along today...
and I thought I certainly
would!
I gave my new group
of low-volume fabrics
a try.

Modern Low Volume Half Yard BundleRobert Kaufman Fabrics

Fat Quarter Shop  has a few little groups of low-volume fabrics
that you might like!

I made my Jelly Roll Railway...
I actually used fat quarters and just cut twice the number of
strip sets needed.
An easy adjustment!
But then
I decided I wasn't done playing.

I decided to use my Orange Peel templates from
Fat Quarter Shop to add a few flower petals
to the quilt.

I also decided on two different background
fabrics... just to mix it up a little!

And there you have it!

I think that I need to dig into my holiday fabric and
make another version for a cozy Christmas quilt!

Cozy Christmas 2.5" Rolie PolieLori Holt for Riley Blake Designs

which happens to have 25 strips in the roll.
Isn't that just perfect!?!

Please go to Jolly Jabber and download the pattern on
You Tube!
You know you always need a fun and quick
quilt project!
