Unexpected destinations was going to be my "word" but I think I can sum up
what I mean even more by saying "Picnic". A feeling of romance. Embracing life.
It can be as simple as a picnic on your own lawn or an impromptu tailgate picnic at a scenic vista point.
Or a little lunch on the beach somewhere.
But it is meant to be simple. Intimate.
A special joy.
But the ideas for my sewing room are a little different.
I really want to embrace embroidery this year.
It's my challenge.
There is a really sweet BOM starting this month...
that I just have to join, not only for inspiration but also for moral support! hehe
It's Birdie Stitches. By Little Miss Shabby.
and did you see this new BOM by Bunny Hill!
Anne just has a way of embellishing on the sweetness of life!
This was a quilt that I saw on Comfort Stitches... and I am tickled to say that
I figured out how to make this cute quilt! So I am working on that right now!
I made a small butterfly quilt a month or two ago, and there was another one or two I had
seen in blogland including this one that was actually from a magazine. But I am hooked on these butterfly's! I have a new one ready to start... but I don't think I can stop there.
It's such a great way to use up my scraps!

Lots of gorgeous inspiration...I am tempted by those butterflies!
I love your 'word' and the pictures to match are to die for!
Good for you doing embroidery this year. I love it because it is so portable.
The other quilts are so charming...I love that pink and white striped dish as well....
You have some great projects planned Sinta Renee!
I love your word: very original! Evokes so many images! Everyone should have more picnics in 2011! I love that quilt from Comfort Stitches! I think I have it saved in my favorites too! Wouldn't it make a fabulous Picnic Quilt?!
Oooh! Picnic! That's sounds like fun. Good word to live life by.
Love your word! How creative.....it really sums up a feeling without being a feeling word....Wow!
LOVE your word - and the description you gave! And, as always - so love your projects! Hoping life is one great picnic this year (smile)!
What a fun happy word Sinta. To me it means make life fun. I like your butterfly quilt and the flying geese quilt is going to be awesome.
Great word - and I like how you explained it. And the pictures are fabulous. I'm working on embroidery this year too! Good luck with yours, and i hope 2011 is a picnic for you!
I like your word and your list of projects. Good luck!
I love your word--I have to change mine I think--it is too serious of a word--need something more "fun"--
like those two bom's as well--
and your quilt goals are great--happy stitching--
hugs, di and that miss gracie
Looks like it going to be a fun year for you. Love the "picnic" idea.
What beautiful imagery to your word! Very inspirational!!
I love your word! It evokes so many pleasant thoughts. Coincidentally, Picnic is the name of the quilt on the cover of my new book. Hopefully it will be a picnic kind of year for all of us.
I'm really loving that butterfly quilt. If I ever get the opportunity to sew again . . . :-)
You figured out the Comfort Stitches Quilt!! Did you stick with your plan of only using a jelly roll?
Thanks for sharing the Bunny Hill BOM, my daughter loves squirrels so I'm giving it some thought!
I'm embracing hand applique this year, maybe embroidery next year!
I love the butterfly quilt, I've not seen that block any where before......another little something for m list!
Best wishes for a Picnic Kind of Life for 2011, if you dream it, it will come true!
Great word! Love the whole idea and feeling of it!
So much lovely inspiration! You are a temptress, you know....and that is a great word...think I will just use everyone's words rather than come up with my own, they are all wonderful!
Love every photo...every idea...and love your word! I hope life is a wonderful picnic for you this year!
Nothing beats heading out of town with a hamper full of homemade sandwiches, fresh fruit and some sparkling water!!! Destination: the beach!! Love the pics, Sinta!
