I Even Amaze Myself!

No, this is not my wall. The photo you see is the same one I stumbled upon
when I was blog hopping and I believe that blog referenced that it was from Martha Stewart.
A picture like this
is very dangerous
to someone
like me,
who is,
at that moment anyway,
under a lot of stress.
And you all know what is the best relief for stress...
(no, not exercise)...
Retail therapy!
Do you know you can find anything on Ebay?
Normally I keep away from Ebay. I even forgot my password but when there is a will
there is a way... and within the minute of an auction item closing...
I had my new password in my inbox...
and that's where the trouble started.

It certainly didn't take long to do some damage.
Who in their right mind buys pie tins anyway? Old ones ta' boot!
Good grief.
I do amaze myself!
And as the days went by and a kept seeing the UPS driver
coming to my office...
even I couldn't help but shake my head in disbelief.
The main problem is...
I don't even have walls to make a display like that in
my kitchen or dining room!
What the heck! It's almost laughable...
but only because I haven't taken those darn things home yet...
and a certain somebody does not know what I had been up to.
But even he would understand and be thankful that I hadn't found
something a lot more expensive to obsess over to relieve my stress!
Although, I believe that is the same way I ended up with my little Featherweight.

Maybe I should take up drinking!

Anyway, there is another little something that is about to be going on...

Jackie at Canton Village Quilt Works is starting a Blogger's BOM.
There will be 12 different blocks made by a blogger/designer. One per month for a year. Sherri at
a Quilting Life will be the first to share a pattern... it starts Sept 25th!
Only a few days away!

I do love that photo! I can see why you could get carried away. Sorry about that stress though. I've heard you can avoid stress and I've always wondered how. Hide? Quit work? Stop talking to everyone? If you find out let me know. I have some to avoid too :-)

You are too funny~!!!! Sorry about all the stress though. It's hard to get away from it...I know. I say "more sewing therapy...less work!" :-)

go yard sale-ing, then bring them home - he'll think you spent quarters on them instead of dollars, LOL :)

That is how I got my Featherweight, and I sweated bullets until it came, so afraid that I had bought junk. Lucky me, she is a beauty and runs perfectly, but I will never put in a bid that high again.

Oh I love that photo- it makes me want to paint our kitchen walls..... and buy pie tins... oh no...
Thanks for sharing! Your story made me smile :-)

That is so funny! I'm like that at thrift shops and garage sales. (I haven't been to one in ages because of it!) I come home with more stuff that I'll have to either donate later to that same thrift shop or try to sell in a garage sale! When I buy the stuff, I have so many plans for them all!

It really could be worse. That's one of my mantas.
You could be buying glass eyes. Just imagine a bowl of those on your coffee table. What a conversation starter.
Take care...

I LOVE that wall, and I know that you will FIND the space for those pie tins. And girlfriend, you'd be surprised how many people buy those...they are pretty darn collectable, especially the Blue Bird Pie ones! And I agree with Karin up there....what a great idea.

And I am so sorry for your stress...keeping you in my thoughts and prayers!

Love ya,

Cyndi

I know exactly how easy it is to get carried away. I did similar damage myself a few years ago. I saw a photo in a magazine of white milk glass plates displayed on a wall, had to replicate in my hallway, UPS and USPS were delivering every few days until I had my plates!

Oh, how funny. I showed a picture on my blog a couple years ago of a shed all covered with items used for washing clothes. You can see it here.

Someone had fun collecting the items.
