Back to Sewing...

As some of you might already know, the house
we have been living in for the past 6 1/2 years
was sold and I had 5 weeks to find another one
and move.
That is a lot of pressure... but I am happy to say that
in just two weeks I found a home... and one in
the same neighborhood at that!
Last Saturday we started moving in... and
we actually slept there that night! The furniture
was arranged and it was kayos but not too bad.
We have some finishing up to do this weekend
and then we are done! Two weeks ahead of schedule!

So, now that I can come up for air a little...
I was able to start the Nested Churn Dash quilt along
I love Churn Dash blocks and actually had a
pattern pulled out of a CD quilt that was similar...
but for some reason it had Y seams. Hmm, so
I was glad to play along and get things started
with the quilt along!

Her pattern is a couple $$ and it's a 24" block...
I decided that this was the better pattern by far!
So...
I cut my fabrics....

and even got a little bit of sewing started!
The biggest miracle is that I have a sewing room that
is all put away nice and neat.
It looked impossible at first... but it worked out!
So I fired up that machine, put thread in her and started sewing!

I am using Quilt Soup fabrics... mostly (using the 80/20 rule).
I have been hording them since I found out that Barbara is retiring.
I am going to miss her!
Here are a couple other quilts that I have made with her fabrics:
They are just happy fabrics!

I found this photo on a google search... it's my quilt, but before
I had put on borders.

And here is another one that was a Mystery BOM!
I am going to miss her whimsical designs and fabrics!
But just so you know.. she is having a sale on her web site right now.
You might want to take a look! And then thank me later... ha!

I will try to take some pictures of the house tomorrow!
(well, at least the outside)!

I've been seriously out of the loop from all the happenings and had no idea you were moving and wondering why if you are in still neighborhood.
The fog I've been living in may be lifting soon...I'm hopeful anyway. LOL!
Here it is 3am...sleepless night and so much to do tomorrow! ARGH!
BTW--I ordered that Nested Churn Dash in hopes of whipping up one someday soon myself. Glad to see in the mix of a move you have time to sew...how do you do it?!

Pretty fabric choices for your nested churn blocks. I'm doing the QAL too and posted pics out on IG. I haven't blogged them yet. Enjoy your new dwelling. :)

Wow! That was fast Sinta. Congratulations on finding the new home (and sewing room). Quick move and I'm impressed that the sewing room is set up and ready to go...looking forward to seeing your pictures. Good luck with the weekend tasks.
