Highlights of My Little Get-Away

The hubs and I went to Livermore to see our DS & soon to be DIL.
I can't believe that I didn't make sure my camera was charged before I left!

There were so many things I could have taken pictures of...

starting with my visit to In Between Stitches!

I didn't have to get but a couple steps inside the door when my heart skipped a beat for

this group that was displayed there...

Nicey Jane... by Heather Bailey;

the collection reminds me of vintage sheets... which just happens to be a favorite obsession of mine right now. So, of course I had to bring a sample of each home with me.

Next day: The same problem continued. We had a large Nikon and

a digital camera with us and we only got a few shots

before the batteries were dead on both of those. That's a total of 3 cameras down now! *g*

We went to the Monterey Bay Aquarium.

The exhibits were so facinating! And they have Pinguins too!

I love the sea lions approach to life.

Just relaxin' in the sun!

I did pull out my cell phone to take some photos of the sea horses.

They are the most precious little creatures in the sea.

It's a leafy sea horse. Aren't they amazing?
I can't forget to mention the fantastic food we had. Jill cooked one night and on Valentine's Day she made Boston Cream Pie (heart shaped). It was my first time to have it! It was seriously delicious! Now I really have to start a diet!

Hmmm... I heart 3 day weekends... but wait! you know what that means?
A 4 day work week! Woohoo!

Ohhhh nooooo.....nooooo camera? Rooo rooooo.... But the pics you did get are fabulous. I'd like to be an otter right now. Were the waves big in Monterey? They were HUGE up north!!!!

LOVE the fabric. They DO look like vintage sheets. And speaking of that...yours are on their way.
Thanks soooooo much!!

Ummm I love vintage sheets too! :-) I've been getting ready to cut some up, but haven't been able to put the blade to them yet. ;-) Glad you could get away for some fun.

Ooh, you're so right, 3 day weekends are wonderful. Hubby immediately thinks "RV time" when he has an extended weekend.

The fabrics are WONDERFUL, WONDERFUL, WONDERFUL. Love the "vintage" look of them.

I LOVE that Amy Butler fabric!! I can't wait to see what you do with it. I hate it when that happens with my camera...I had the same thing happen the other night at my strip club...I got like 3 pictures and then boom no more battery...grrrr!! Even worse though on vacation!!!

Nice pictures. Seahorses are indeed the sweetest little creatures. I always love to go to quilt shops when we go on vacation. It enhances the fun!
Take care, Linda

Lovely trip!!! I'm going to do something I haven't done in forever --- buy that set of fabric you showed (I've purposed to use stash and haven't allowed myself the luscious treat of buying new fab). Vintage sheets are my love, though I don't own one single one. They are grandma, and warm summer days, and carefree childhood....
