My Sweet Spot and Winners Announced!

I promised myself that I would get this done today!
Yeah! And done before 7 a.m.

I got this one done also! woohoo!

I like getting a thing or two accomplished in the mornings.
I think it so dang cute! I used an older group from Robyn Pandloph.
The only thing better would for it to be bigger!
(I'm working on that)

I know you Le Petite girls want to get started on Sweet Spot,
and I thought I would share some info with you.
This is a great ruler.

(Open Gate pattern called Housesitter).

Fit To Be Geese ruler is one of those little specialty gadgets that once you have used it, you know that you couldn't live (or, quilt) without it!
If you are familiar with any of Carrie's patterns, she mentions using this ruler in almost all of them!
Carrie writes on her blog about Monique's ruler here.

Nicole at Sister's Choice had this little tutorial that I went to, and went back to, before I even picked up my rotary cutter for the FQS project. I found it very very helpful.
The picture of the Housesitter quilt above is a sample I had made for the Fat Quarter Shop.
Believe me, I  wanted my blocks to be perfect, with a capital P, on this project!

So if you think you will be doing any Flying Geese in the future I recommend purchasing this ruler.
It actually comes in two sizes. Buy both if you can. When I was making my Schnibbles projects last year the smaller one was the one I used... but then I fell in love with it and wished I had gotten the other size too.

Now lets see who our Mon Ami winners are:

These wonderful bundles of Fresh Palette are from Carrie
who is picking a winner from
Sherri's parade and one from mine...
and the Fresh Palette fat quarter bundles go to:
Michelle at Island Life Quilts and Diana at Quiltecke blog.

The girls of Quilters' Paradise are offering a $25 gift certificate
to use in their wonderful store...
and the winner of the gift certificate is:

Handmade by Mai

Corrie at Quilt Taffy is giving a $10 gift certificate to have a little spending spree at her on-line store...
and the winner is.... ME! Ok, not true... the winner is:
Amanda aka Little Miss Quilter

and Bear Paw Quilts and more is giving  a Moda Scrap Bag to one lucky winner of the Mon Ami parade...
and the winner of the Scrap Bag is:
Marica at Englanting blog

Congratulations to everyone!
Please contact either Sherri or me if you are a prize winner!

Now, for me...
the next thing up on my work table is:

the cover quilt of Kim's book:
"Picnic" !
I'm using Bliss because a person can't have enough... Bliss in their life!

Hi Again.... I was sitting thinking I better get to ordering Sweet Spot as I have to order from the US and I am slow anyway being a newbie... then I remembered what you said about perfect flying geese and grabbed that ruler too!
I have another project on my list (a big one) with loads of flying geese in it, hopefully the mini ruler will be big enough for that too!

Thanks for the recommendation!

Your quilts both look very nice and cute!! I started my quilting life with Robyn's fabrics a little over 10 years ago when she used to be with Moda. I also love Fit To Be Geese ruler. I have mini one and larger one and use both of them all the time. I first thought a little odd to cut the fabric as triangle like the old way, but with those rulers, it actually get done pefectly! Good stuff :)))
