I have been looking for the perfect new
Christmas CD. I like a wide variety of music
and each year I purchase one new CD.
My inspiration for putting up the decorations
and setting the theme of my holiday.
This year there were some very good
artists with some beautiful music...
but I found one that had a lot of swagger
in it.
This artist is new to me...
but probably one you have heard of.
At least you might have heard of it if you
like the Big Band Era and Swing.
The name of the band is Big Bad Voodoo Daddy.
(I am guessing that they originated from New Orleans).
Here is a link to the Amazon video for a listen.
(my favorite: designs here are by Johanna Parker)
I need some of these to add to my ornament collection!
My new vow is to purchase at least one of her creations every year!
Check out her page here... she is having an open house tomorrow.
Unfortunately I live very far away.
I do hope to have a grip on my holiday decorating
this weekend. Just like the rest of you! But
Saturday is the second annual Christmas Tea
that my DDIL hosts.
I am excited to be going to that.
Since I have nothing quiltie to show for this week...
I wanted to share this picture from absolutely wonderful store:
Quilt Shop in Oregon.
Isn't it so cute?
I know that this is/was a free pattern from Moda.
Does anyone know the link to it???
This is one of those "I'm on the hunt" kind of things!
Of course it's impossible to do what I need to do this month...
but I would like to make this.
I hope you have a weekend full of festivity!
13 friends stopped by to chat:
I love that band!
Here's a link to the pattern

Yay! I was just about to tell you I have a copy of Jovial I could share but QuiltedSquid gotcha your link! If I didn't have so many Chritmasy things in the works already..
I'm trying to get a handle on my decorating this weekend, too. I really wanted to go to Colonial Williamsburg and see the fabulous decorations, too, but it is going to rain all weekend. Sigh...
Oh man, decorating too?! I am still in the sewing gifts phase and need another week! Argh! Love the quilt. :-) Happy weekend!
I just looked it up and Johanna is less than 30 miles from where I live. Sadly, the roads are very icy today so I'm not brave enough to travel to see her decorations. Maybe next year.
Boughs of Holly is part of Hollyhill - my local quilt shop! They have the most wonderful displays EVER.
I'm still looking for the patterns - I didn't forget.
I get a new CD each year. A nice holiday treat during this crazy time! What a cute quilt. I see someone knew the link. I'm going to go check it out. Thanks!
Hi Sinta! I went to the Amazon link and also enjoy this CD...I have money in my iTunes account so I think I'll look it up.
Hope you enjoyed your DDIL's Christmas tea :)
Aha -- no wonder you were pinning all those snowmen LOL -- they're adorable! That tree quilt is super cute too. I want to make CrazyMom's tree quilt, but I just don't think it's going to happen this year!
Love the tree pattern - after looking at it more closely, I noticed that the pinwheels are actually dimensional - put together sort of like prairie points. That will be adorable!!
those snowmen are so sweet. I do love that quilt and see that someone left a link in the comments. Yay!
Such a great quilt!!!
