Did you realize that this week marks the point of the year when we are 6 months away from Christmas?
I know! Seriously!
So maybe it's a good time to look at a new quilt book that is focused on winter projects!
(this photo was found on Pinterest for The Quilt Patch from their Market Booth)
Both Shelley Wicks and Jeanne Large own and operate
The Quilt Patch retail store in Moose Jaw, SK. Shelley is blogging at The Quilt Patch blog
They currently have four books published with Martingale,
as well as having a line of patterns that sell under the name
The Quilt Patch Pattern Co.

Tis' the Autumn Season was rated #4 last year in Martingale Publishing's top 10 books!
And the photo above was the cover quilt for last year's Holiday quilt book called
Tis' the Season!
This one was one I loved from Urban Country Quilts!
And now they are back again with their new book: Here Comes Winter!
There are 19 projects that range from pillows to table runners, to
lap quilts and wall hangings.
I love their projects because they are very do-able and have a fun kind of charm to the style.
Also, since they aren't really labor intensive... you might consider making
one or more projects from their books as gifts!
The projects also range in style... their is whimsical...
like this one... called A Few Good Men!
I like the chunky applique.
Dramatic... like the Snowflake trio...
this would be great decor for all season long.
Not just Christmas.
and just fun... like Crosswalk!
I could see this being done in any number of colorways.
Even though this one doesn't have to be a winter quilt...
they seriously have it all covered for the season...
snowmen, reindeer, snowflakes... mittens (I love mittens),
lights and even a Christmas tree or two!
One more photo to show you... I love those
cute little reindeer!
You can find the book at Martingale Publishing or at Amazon.
So other than it being 90+ degrees out...
why not start thinking Holidays?
I just put this group of fabrics on my wish list at Fat Quarter Shop:
10 friends stopped by to chat:
Oh my goodness, so soon! :)
Thanks for sharing... I need to get started.
Thinking about Christmas now is rather nice. Better to get organised early so thank you for the hint. Love all the snowmen and mittens too.
I'm already thinking about my annual "Christmas in July" project!
Great post. Love Jeanne and Shelly's books. My daughter lives just 45 minutes away from The Quilt Patch so I get to visit that shop at least once a year when I go west to visit my family. They are the friendlest girls and their shop is a real pleasure to visit. So much eye candy! I have seen a lot of the projects featured in their first two books.
I must look for this new book when I visit this fall. Thanks for the heads up on this one.
Sinta!!! You said the C-Word in the summer!!! What were you thinking????
(But those are pretty quilts LOL!)
I love that collection you added to your FQS wishlist. I had not seen that one before. I'm getting it in my wishlist now too. Thanks!
These are all wonderful books / patterns and it really is a great idea to get a head start on the fall/winter season. However, I am behind on the spring/summer season so...needless to say, I'm not ready :) But thanks for thinking of us!
I can't begin to think Christmas yet!!!! What great projects are awaiting us!
Six Months?!?!? Say it isn't so. Thanks for all the eye candy and inspiration.
Hi! I love the quilt from Urban Country Quilts as well. Can you tell me which of the books it's in?
