Mill House Anyone?

Fat Quarter Shop is hosting the Fig Tree Club and has a drawing going on-
on their Jolly Jabber blog, so you might want to go over and see: The Mill House Inn fabrics are beautiful.

I am just finishing up my shop sample for this project (for another shop)

... it is really fast and goes together nice. I have a picture of it
in the last post, if you want a sneak peak.

What To Do?

I had requested Friday off from work so that I could squeeze out a 4 day weekend. But as it turned out, it was going to be a busy day... so, not-wanting-to-miss-out on anything,
I went in to work.
We didn't really have any great plans for the holiday weekend... just some quilting, maybe a movie, & some cleaning... so it was alright.

However, Friday evening we did go over to Bass Lake and had, my favorite, a burger at
Millers Landing before getting on the boat and going out to listen to
Labor Day weekend marks the end of summer around here and that was to be the Friday night to have music and fireworks on the lake for the season. It was amazingly quiet at the lake. Their didn't seem to be as many people camping as usual.
I am wondering if it's a sign of the economy? Anyway...

It's time to show my "big ideas" of what I would like to get accomplished this month for the Charming Girls Quilt Club. I started working on my store sample for the Fig Tree Club the other day and should get the top completed this weekend.
I am still trying to finish this quilt for my son. It is as big as the pattern called for but I need to make it bigger for him... so I just have a few more blocks to complete and put the border on.

This time I am throwing the mystery Schnibbles project in the mix, because that is something I will most definitely get completed this month!

And don't try to peek at what it is!LOL

I started this little Late Bloomer project last year and it looks like it's time to get it back out and finish up the embroidery part so that I can get this finished and hanging for Fall.

I stood in my sewing room looking at what I wanted to post for the CGQC, and like everyone else there was a plethora of choices... I just wish I could work as fast as my mind thinks I can! But just as things get finished there are other temptations... for instance...
Camille of Thimble Blossoms posted her newest patterns this week and I have been playing with them in my mind ever since. They are really cute patterns and most were designed to use with layer cakes. Her Velvet Cake pattern is just so sweet!

Did You Hear? Jodi had a Makeover

Earlier this week news was released about Jodi's makeover! Her blog that is. Originally "This That and the Other", she is now called Pleasant Home. She is having a huge celebration and drawings and serveral of her friends are participating to make it even more special! So if you haven't already been there, go visit these places.

Kitty at Fahrenheit 350 has a great blog... by the title you can guess it's food related... well, not just food but wonderful deserts! I swear I gained 3 1/2 pounds just by clicking onto her site! But it was well worth it.

and then there is Kitty's sister Pamela. Isn't that a great name for her blog? French Knots. Cute quilts to be found there!
... I saw this picture of "Booth" over at Minick and Simpson. I don't know if there was a drawing but... just in case!

Okay, here is Jodi's new button to go with her new look Pleasant Home. You know her blog is always full of fun things, great quilts, MBS and she finds the best places to go visit too. Today you will find Daffodill Hill there. She is playing also with a give-away too!

Today is the Day

On your mark!
Get set!
Go!
A Year of Schnibbles has now officially started!
We have nearly 80 wonderful people signed up for a Year of Schnibbles! Can you believe that! We are going to have the best parades every month... no pressure to finish though... and tops work for me too!
Even though it has been fun to keep you in suspense it is time to show you the first project...
This is the first Schnibbles pattern we will make. It's called Winter White. You will have to see Sherri's, A Quilting Life, version of the pattern. Hers is made with the Glace fabric line. I made mine with the Robyn Pandolph's group Roses de Noel. I just love this pattern and couldn't wait to make it. I do get a bit challenged by the flying geese... but Carrie, of Miss Rosie's Quilt Company, has great instructions and options in the pattern for you. I added buttons in the centers... I wanted to use red but didn't find any I liked. So for now I just used my vintage white ones.
I had originally purchased my group from the Fat Quarter Shop. We have not as of yet gotten them to agree to be a "featured quilt shop" for our group. Maybe with a little prompting from you guys they will be interested!
But... The Quilt Shoppe has been wonderful and they do have a large selection of charm packs as well as kits made up with the Glace group that Sherri used.
I have listed on my sidebar the quilt shops that we are featuring. They have patterns available right now and are eager to work with our Year of Schnibbles group. Quilt Taffy has a good selection of charm packs and is happy to put together a kit for you.
Right now Bear Paw and Cottage Quilts have the Winter White pattern. Cottage Quilts has a lots of charm packs and coordinates for you too.
Everyone is excited to help you get started on your Year of Schnibbles...
and Sherri & I want to see what you come up with!
Your fabric requirements are:
2 Glace charm packs * 5/8 yard background & inner border * 1/2 yard outer border
*1/3 yard binding * 1 yard backing
(I will get the rest of the names listed on my sidebar today and if you don't see your name please let me know.)
Remember in order to be in drawings for prizes for A Year of Schnibbles you need to make sure you did these 4 steps:
1. Leave a comment on this post and say “I’m in” and leave a link to your blog; then go over to Sherri’s blog and do the same.
2. Grab our button and put it on your sidebar.
3. Put me on your favorite’s list and Sherri too… so you don’t miss out on anything. We'll have surprises!
4. On the 1st of each month you will comment on our Club members post. So we can link back to your blog and see your finished project.
