I had requested Friday off from work so that I could squeeze out a 4 day weekend. But as it turned out, it was going to be a busy day... so, not-wanting-to-miss-out on anything,
I went in to work.
We didn't really have any great plans for the holiday weekend... just some quilting, maybe a movie, & some cleaning... so it was alright.

Labor Day weekend marks the end of summer around here and that was to be the Friday night to have music and fireworks on the lake for the season. It was amazingly quiet at the lake. Their didn't seem to be as many people camping as usual.
I am wondering if it's a sign of the economy? Anyway...
It's time to show my "big ideas" of what I would like to get accomplished this month for the Charming Girls Quilt Club. I started working on my store sample for the Fig Tree Club the other day and should get the top completed this weekend.
I am still trying to finish this quilt for my son. It is as big as the pattern called for but I need to make it bigger for him... so I just have a few more blocks to complete and put the border on.
This time I am throwing the mystery Schnibbles project in the mix, because that is something I will most definitely get completed this month!
And don't try to peek at what it is!LOL
I started this little Late Bloomer project last year and it looks like it's time to get it back out and finish up the embroidery part so that I can get this finished and hanging for Fall.
I stood in my sewing room looking at what I wanted to post for the CGQC, and like everyone else there was a plethora of choices... I just wish I could work as fast as my mind thinks I can! But just as things get finished there are other temptations... for instance...
Camille of Thimble Blossoms posted her newest patterns this week and I have been playing with them in my mind ever since. They are really cute patterns and most were designed to use with layer cakes. Her Velvet Cake pattern is just so sweet!

Lots of great projects you have going! I am really looking forward to the one you are making for your son. It is nice to see a masculine project once in a while! :o)
I just cleaned up my sewing area yesterday and found several *lost* projects, as well! :o)
Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
I loved her Red velvet pattern as well. It was my favorite among all her beauties. I am anxiously awaiting the yardage from her Simply Abundance since I want to use that line on my White Winter Schnibbles pattern.
You seem to have as many projects as I do to work on this month. Good Luck!!
Love your projects! I can't wait to make the Fig Tree Club pattern...it doesn't start until October, though! And I've picked my fabric for the next Schnibbles, too...Have a great rest of the Labor Day holiday!
Oh, and I love Camille's new patterns too...I ordered A La Mode right away!
I, too, love Camille's new patterns. In fact, I have already ordered them from her Etsy shop. Sounds like you have lots to do just like most of us! Hope the rest of your weekend is wonderful!
I love masculine styled quilts, and fabrics I will love to see what you will get done.
even with work it looks like you got a lot done!
Oh I am loving the Red Velvet too! Humm I see cake in my future.;)
Lots of fun projects to finish up! I love your Spooky pumpkin project.
I must know more about the pattern you are doing the shop sample in! I love the way those blocks show off the fabric. Gorgeous!
I ordered my YoS kit from the quiltshoppe, and I know there is a bit of a delay with the shipping. (Hoping it arrives soon, so I can get started. Is it possible, to order it in advance as a mystery kit, so that it can be delivered October 1st?
