Deviating From the List, Already

I finished up my little shop sample project.
I just love the Quilt Soup pattern and the fabric is Quilt Soup also!
I sent it off to the quilter today... the backing will be the large polka dots.
And even though this wasn't on my list that I shared last week...
I have been wonderfully influenced by Pam Kitty Morning, Freda's Hive, Mrs. Schmenkman and Ferne
who have all made these Butterfly blocks. I love them so much, in all different sizes. There are lots of fun ideas and fabrics on their blogs.
And these smaller ones which PKM had made into a pillow, are perfect for the smallest of scraps.
I just thought it would be fun to tackle. I little butterfly quilt made from
leftovers from a couple quilts that I made last month. There are scraps from Bliss, after making Marmalade by Thimble Blossoms. And also scraps from Sweet from my double hour glass quilt.
I actually tore apart a Abbey Road scrap catcher that I had made and didn't like (it reminded me of the circus) and I repurposed the fabrics for the center/bodies of the butterflies
and also the stripe outer border.  I also used scrap background fabrics for the white parts with the exception of the center columns. I still need to put on an outer border... I think it will be leftover polka dots from the Quilt Soup quilt.
It's my attempt at being influenced by Scrap Manicure!
You can see the top pincushion that remains from my pincushion scrap bag.
I think it was the stripe that was the outside fabric that just screamed circus to me and
just made it impossible to live with.
But now that I am on to these Butterflies... I want to make up some big ones, they really are addicting.
One more thing that I made
is my MBS Christmas Tree designed by Cara of Cara Quilts.

I have a little more to do, adding some buttons and a little something for a tree topper and borders...
I made it with my sewing group. It was a fun little group project and it was done before we know it... well, at least this far.

I like that tree. How is it that the triangles overlap each other? Are they little flaps?

I love all the quilts, but I just adore your pincushion ( I collect pincushion), do you have a pattern of it? Or is it your own design? And where can I buy the pattern?

I love the butterflies! Such a cute tree. Are the triangles similar to prairie points?
