Acts of Kindness, Random or Otherwise

I just have to share this:
I got this in an email from one of my East Coast family members:
I guess that sums it up pretty well for a lot of areas!
I thought it was pretty funny.

A couple of weeks ago I was reading That's Sew Mandy blog and she had a Pay It Forward
going on there.
Basically it is based on doing acts or deeds of kindness without expecting anything in return in the hope that the recipients you send something to will pass it on!

I love the idea of making little gifties for a new someone special so I asked if I could join in!
I saw a lot of this going on a year or so ago when I was new to blogging and as much as I wanted to join in, I resisted... I guess I felt like I was still such a newbie.
But this is a new year and I think it would be good to spread some niceness around.

I just got this book from Kim Deihl called Simple Graces and it has this cute door hanger in it.
So I was thinking that I would love to make this for the people who I get to Pay It Forward to.
(or at least something that looks close to the original)

Here is how it will work. For the first 3 people who post a comment to this entry stating they wish to join the Pay it Forward exchange,
I will make them this little something  and will have it sent to them before the end of 2011.
In return, you will post the Pay it Forward  on your blog promising the same thing to 3 people.
Simple.
So who wants to join??? Wouldn't it be nice to start this year with a random acts of kindness!!!

Speaking of kindness...
I'm sure you all know the wonderful Wendy at Snippets of a Quilter ,
she is having a birthday... and to celebrate she is having a giveaway... soooo,
you might want to go send her some birthday wishes and help her celebrate!

(if you don't know her... you should go check out her fun blog... )

Hey, I just received my PIF from Terry and I'll have my own PIF post down the road so please do not count me in. I just wanted to let you know that your post made me laugh!

Hey I'll play with you - I haven't done a PIF in a couple of years. Count me in, please.

I could not tell if you had 3 yet, but if you need a third, count me in.

I did a PIF a few years back and they are lots of fun. Looks like you've already got your three! That is great! Have fun with it!

That weather map is so funny. I see you've already got three people for your PTF. That's always a fun thing to do, I enjoy doing things like this for others.

I agree with Carol... that map is hilarious! But I do think that is probably what a lot of people in this country are thinking and feeling about now! LOL!

Oh, I would have loved to play in your PIF....I'm always late to the party! :o( Have fun with it, and perhaps I'll host one on my blog soon!

XOXO,

Cyndi

Thanks for posting about my giveaway. I recently won 2 things through blogging and I thought a giveaway would be my way to pay it forward, kinda informally. I'm so glad you are getting the ball rolling again.

I love the map! I lived in Maine for awhile.......we had many ice storms and many days without power as a result :( Not fun with a toddler!

I'm new to blog land and I know I'm too late to participate, but I'm going to try one from my blog.

Thanks for the idea!

I'm participating in Pay it Forward too, but have a different graphic. Another blogger started a flickr group since we could find one. We thought it would be fun to have a collective place to see what projects are going out and being received by those participating. Come join in and spread the word.
