This quilt has done some traveling and today
I get to share with you my quilt made out of Hometown by Sweetwater!
I love this fabric line and the colors are so fun!
Remember when Kim from Magnolia Bay Quilts, came out with her new book
Scrap Basket Sensations?
Well, I made a Picnic quilt from the book
and then just last month
I got to do a little sewing for KIM at the Fat Quarter Shop...
and lo and behold...
they asked me to use Kim's book and coincidentally
the pattern that is on page 69. Picnic!
What I didn't know was that they have great plans for the book.
Fat Quarter Shop is starting a Scrap Basket Sensations Quilt Club!
It will consist of making 4 projects from Kim's book over the next year, using
the latest and the greatest new fabric lines coming out!

One thing? That is difficult. I love the Fat Quarter Shop's easy to use website, reasonable pricing, notification when new fabric lines are released, friendly staff and, I suppose, my favorite-favorite would be their timely shipment process. The Fat Quarter Shop is my "go to" when I'm in a shopping mode.
I saw the charms - divine! I want ten of each. My favorite thing about FQS has to be the coming soon section. I will go in there at least once a week and scroll through all the beauties. Then I mark my calendar with the new collections I love so I don't forget about them. Can I buy them all? No. Do I love the process anyway? Yes!
Don't you love this in My Hometown!? It's so pretty. And that's so sweet of you and Kimberly to give away a copy of the book. You did such a great job with the Picnic quilt -- but then you have had a little practice. Ha! Ha!

I really like the great variety & excellent service I get from the FQS...my parcels arrive promptly & Kimberley posts the most economical way possible. Love that book...might have to look at that club.
They have a great selection, but what I really appreciate are the plastic zip bags that all the fabric comes in. It keeps it safe through shipping, and is handy for storage.
For me I just love the service, and they answer their emails quickly, and of course, I love their sales!!!

Oh my gosh, I can't believe it was you that made that beautiful Picnic quilt. I love the Hometown fabrics, anxious for them to come out and when I saw that quilt in the Hometown fabrics at FQS I could not resist signing up for the Scrapbook Sensations club. I love so many things about the Fat Quarter Shop and spend way too much money there. My favorite thing is the variety of products they get, new fabrics and when the order arrived it's always packaged beautifully.
Ooohhhhh, I love this pattern! I just saw it made from monochromatic pink and soft turquoise in a very romantic version. Congrats on a great quilt!! And I agree, what is not to love about the FQS!!

The Picnic quilt is my favorite of all the quilts I previewed from the book's blog tour. And the FQS program is an interesting (and tempting) concept! Since I've been eyeing that book lately, I've got to get in on this one!
I recently purchased a couple of Schnibbles patterns from the FQS for a friend and had them sent as a gift. I heard the gift wrapping was very nice and I know the shipping was prompt!

Where do I start? I love their fabrics, their service, their speed, the way they will tell you when something is in stock that you have been interested in, their wide range of stock .... I could go on and on.

I love looking around the fat quarter shop to see the coming soon fabrics! Then I check the what's new section, the fabric thumbprints are big enough to really see the fabric and I find their website to show the true color of the fabrics. Of course I check the Sale section as well!

The first time I placed an order with The Fat Quarter Shop, Kimberley herself called me within an hour to apologize that she didn't have as much of one of the fabrics as I hadnordered and asking ifnI wanted what she had or to cancel that part of my order. She called! Not email, a real phone call. THAT is customer service!

Your quilt is truly wonderful and I love the fabric choices. Gorgeous!!! I have to tell ya, my first experience with the FQS was 3 years ago when a friend of 35 years was paralyzed when an aneurysm ruptured in her brain, then they found 2 more during her surgery. Well, I just had to make her a Prayer Quilt, but I was a new quilter and wasn't sure what was appropriate for size, fabric choices, etc. I called the FQS and a very wonderful young woman answered and over the next 5 days, through phone calls from both ends and lots of emails back and forth, she and others on the FQS staff, helped me select the perfect pattern using a layer cake so I could finish quickly and easily, as well as fabric choices, right down to the binding. I sent them a photo of the finished quilt (it was gorgeous) and listed their names along with mine on the quilt label. They were all so completely kind and caring and helped me even when I would break down in tears. This wasn't just customer service...they offered their support, friendship and their prayers. So, to me, they are not just a quilt shop, they are much more than that and then some. I love em all. Hugs...

I am always happy w the shipping and handling. My fabric is always nicely cared for, edges of charms are protected, etc. Others don't take such nice care.
