BOM REHAB - The Return of Henrietta Whiskers

Well, I hope that this is not a sign of a bad week.
I could only get this one photo to upload...
this is my stitching on my Henrietta Whiskers block.
It's what I worked on this weekend for BOM Rehab.
I had planned to use pearl cotton through my sewing machine to do the
blanket stitching... and I have done that before, but this time the machine was
just not happy about it at all. I am wondering if I used a different size of
pearl cotton before. I had 8 this time that I was trying to use.
I had to settle for regular thread... but was determined to still use
my machine for the blanket stitch opposed to hand stitching it.
I might have to go to hand stitching... because I want the look of the heavier DMC floss.

edited to answer questions: I got brave and tried using the pearl cotton after reading an post with Quilt Taffy. They had used Presencia Finca Perle Cotton No. 12  through the machine and took a little longer stitch but that was all. I tried using number 8 this morning and that was too thick. I was sure I had used 8 before but it must have been the #12.
But no need to change tension or anything AND just use a regular threaded bobbin.

So, what did you do?

I was going great guns on my Henrietta Whiskers quilt top but put it aside when I started working 72+ hours a WEEK!! I was just thinking about pulling it back out now that it is starting to feel like fall around here. So many projects - so little time!

WHOO HOO I figured out how to link up a photo of what I am working on this week. Is that linky thing up every week? Guess there is hope for us technically challenged girls!

I was so happy to read that you've been able to use perle cotton in your machine! It's something I'd like to try. Did you use any special settings and did you put it through the tension discs? I'm really looking forward to trying it now that I know it's been done before! The shop where I bought my machine didn't know if it would work or not.

Would you answer Mary on your blog for all to read? She has good questions and I would love to see the answers too. I am sure there are more than two of us with these questions. Thanks so much for sharing your knowledge and creativity.

Lovely stitching on your blak bird! Very pretty indeed :))) I've heard about the issue of picture uploading to the blogs here and there lately. Hope the blogger (Google now?) will put a patch or something to resolve the issue very soon... We'd love to see more of your pictures!

It is good to see that there is some rehab going on out there. I hope to join in this week. I have Henrietta Whiskers patterns but have not started it. Your stitching looks great on your bird.

Your Henrietta is looking wonderful Sinta - you inspired me to enter Rehab, get my Henrietta out and start finishing her off!
