2014... I've Got This!

A nice way to start the new year...
catching up on a few things that should have already
been done!
I have one more to go and I will be caught up with my
sewing bee blocks!
And even though I procrastinated making these blocks...
I really like them and enjoyed making them!
They will go out in tomorrow's mail! Yeah!

The tree, lights and decorations have been
put away... but that led to cleaning and rearranging.
And that led too...

7 bags, 1 box, 3 completed quilts, and 4 bolts that went from
my house to my car.

That's what left my house today!
I had started cleaning my sewing room last fall.
However I never got to the point of what had to leave.
So, all of this is finding it's way to new homes.

There was so much that was from years ago when I had
different taste and style in my quilting.
Flannel, prim, batik, etc.
Holding on to this fabric is much like holding on to clothes in my closet
that don't suit me anymore.
Which is another area that will be purged soon!

Beautiful blocks Sinta! That's a lot of things you're giving away. Someone is going to really have fun with them.

I'm all over purging the closet. And I purge in my sewing room--carrying out magazines, books, unfinished projects that I've fallen out of love with, etc. What I haven't really tackled is the fabric. In particular, I have a big tub of Thimbleberries. I used to love Lynette's fabrics, but I find that I'm not using them anymore. A while ago, a blog friend shared that she recently got rid of all of hers, and that planted the bug in my head. I just don't know if I have the strength to do it--and believe me, I've no problem getting rid of things. I'm considering it, though, so I guess that is a start.

Love the blocks Sinta. Sounds like someone lucky is getting your leftover treasures.

I plan to clean out and organize a lot of areas in my home this year. My craft room is in pretty good shape...that's because NOTHING has been happening in there. Hoping to change that soon too ;)

Lovely and colorful Dresden plats Sinta... And those trees are spectacular too! Good for you in disposing of things. Must feel great to get organized...

I love the dresden blocks - a purge is a good thing. Once I am a little more mobile, I dont need purgeing - just re-organizing.

Perging is almost as good as buying new fabric! Out with the old, in with the new!!! Lucky you have a new home for these items - sometimes that is the hardest part. Congratulations!

I did allot of purging when I packed up my sewing room and stash last spring. And still had over 30 boxes of fabric to move into my new sewing room! It did feel good to give away the fabrics that no longer held my taste and I know others were so happy to get those fabrics!

Your little chubby dresdens are so cute :). Hope they don't mind me calling them chubby. The purge sounds good, I'm not there quite yet.

Purge away! Love the dresdens and I was so close to doing some of those crazy tree blocks, but didn't get to them. Maybe next winter!

What a great start to the year! I wish I could clean out my older fabrics but I just keep thinking even though I like brighter colors I still love scrappy and you just never know when you might need a darker color. ??? Maybe??? ;-D

Great blocks and love the dredsen plates! I had done some cleaning and sorting when we moved this past summer. Now I can't seem to find some things but think I put them some safe place...

Hi Sinta! Great job cleaning up your sewing room. I confess I need to do something with my bins of scraps... Also I wanna thank you for the kind messages you left on my blog while I was absent. Have a happy New year!
