It seems like I have been chasing my tail all week!
I was suppose to start a vacation... so the first of the week, following the holiday,
I was busy trying to get things in order.
My vacation plans were to take a road trip with the hubby
up to the Pacific Northwest.
We were to have left yesterday...
(coincidentally, the Quilt Show in Sisters Oregon
just happens to be starting this weekend)
Lucky break!
The day before yesterday the hubby had to be taken to the doctors.
The man has pneumonia!
Seriously.
I had just been telling all my friends... how excited I was about this trip.
It is the first vacation time in 6 years that would not involve taking care of someone
who is either sick and or in the hospital.
That's where things went wrong I guess!
How do you get pneumonia in the Summer anyway?
geeesh!
Sooo, here I remain.
I even went back to work.
My window of opportunity has come and gone.
The good news is that the hubs is starting to feel better
after being pumped with antibiotics.
He always bounces back!
It might not be a very high bounce...
we set the bar kinda low for him! ha
I thought I would share some eye candy with you.
I finished my Summerville quilt by Thimble Blossoms!
I'm calling it Paper Route.
This was a very fun pattern to make... and it was fast! I can see doing it again,
in holiday colors maybe???
I'm not sure what my new plans are for the weekend... but
I'm sure I will have a new project to get started on!
I'll miss you Portland! See you another time!

What a shame, but glad to hear he is feeling better. Seriously......summer pneumonia???? You quilt top is so pretty. Love the colors.
Aww I am so sorry your hubby got sick, but it was such a good thing he went to the Dr at home, rather than when you were in a strange town! I've heard of summer pneumonia, it is usually kind of hard to shake. I hope he feels better real soon. Your quilt is gorgeous! Dang! I said I wasn't buying anymore patterns! :-o Have a fun weekend, whatever you get into. ;-)
I love the fabrics/color choices used in this quilt. It is very different from all of the others I have seen. I love your blog.
Glad your hubby is feeling better but sad you missed your trip.
I think summer pneumonia isn't that unusual because you have this constant change from hot (outside) to cold (inside with AC) and it's the sudden temperature change is hard for the body.
But at least you finished your wonderful Paper Route quilt I'm totally in love with it:-)
Sorry to hear about your husband but glad he is doing better. Not fun being sick and guess your trip wasn't meant to be this year Sinta.....sorry you didn't get to go! Love your quilt though and yes, this is one I would love to do too!!!
Your quilt is beautiful! I had summer viral pneumonia years ago, and it took me 6 months to regain strength and endurance. It's really not something to ignore or fool around with. Sometimes antibiotics don't really work, depending on the type of pneumonia you have. Take good care of your hubby. There will be another vacation, but hubby's health is more important.
Love the quilt...sorry about the husband and your aborted vacation plans. I had pneumonia twice and both times were in the summer. Hope you get some time off soon.
Sorry your vacation plans didn't work out, but glad to hear hubby is feeling better. My DH has pneumonia now too. I LOVE that quilt!!!!
So sorry that your trip had to be cancelled and that your hubby has been sick. Glad that he seems to be on the mend! And your Summerville quilt is beautiful!! I love that pattern, and it looks so good in the fabrics that you made it in. :-) Have a great weekend! Hugs, H
Oh what shame SInta! I hope your husband is feeling good again in a jiffy and that your trip can be rescheduled for later this summer. Your Summerville quilt is awesome. Another one I need to add to the list!
Pneumonia in summer. I would keep a careful eye on that (men don't)
As an olden nurse, I can tell you that pneumonia is actually much more common in warmer temps, because when you are warm and toasty, germs climb in and start a party. Late summer is the usual time, but seriously, winter is not easily associated with pneumonia.
The End
I love this quilt so much. Now I want to make one.
I love the joyful photos you shared too.
I'm sorry to hear your plans got aborted. So sorry about your hubby, I hope he bounces back quickly! Your Summerville quilt is spectacular!
Paper Route is gorgeous. Love the fabrics you chose. Glad hubby is on the mend!
Awww, sorry about hubby! I hope he's healing quickly and that you'll be able to reschedule your trip?
How disappointing! And to miss the Sister's show, too.
But you can't be unhappy with the pick up a quilt top brings; yours is so happy and bright.
LOVE LOVE LOVE how your Summerville turned out. I think a holiday version would be awesome!
I "found" mine in TB fabrics and put it at the top of the pile to work on. Hopefully I get to it soon.
Sorry to hear hubby got sick.... I've heard of so many people with pneumonia this summer....what's up with that?
Peggy
