Inspiration

Okay, I snapped a picture of Juggle.

It is going to be a great little baby quilt for a certain little
somebody I know!

edit... 30 seconds after posting... I got this message...

Make me one!!!! Love, Evie

Don't you just love Facebook... 16 month olds can write you!

Here is a photo of my friend Diane.

And her American Jane quilt!
It turned out so cute. That is a border print so
making it nice and easy quilt to complete!
Diane and I usually are on the same page when it
comes to projects... often making the same one.
It's always so fun to see what she has been up to.

I have been spending some time over at Country Sampler blog.

It has been rekindling my love of
all things Civil War era.
I'll bet you didn't even know about that!
It's true. I love prim and turn of the century too.
I have never made a red and white quilt...
but this one might just be the one.

Don't you just love this?
I feel it tugging at me...
and I think that
Autumn might be a perfect time
to do one of these project.

Or all of them!

A Highlight of the Weekend

A weekend that started with this man singing to me...
and to the other 457 people at a small outdoor venue
just 8 minutes from my home, makes for a good start.

I managed to do a lot of sewing on Saturday...
trying out my new sewing table.
Which I enjoyed very much!
The table hasn't made it into my sewing room upstairs yet...
so I had to bring my project down to it.
But that worked out just fine.
I made the Juggle quilt by Thimble Blossoms out of
the pre-cut hexagons. It was a sweet little project.
It went together nicely. And in just a few hours.
Sorry, no picture yet though.

Yesterday we had Evie with us to enjoy.

The real highlight of my week!

L.B. International Quit Show Part II

I have always wanted to make this one.

There are circles... and then there is circles.

I'm seeing stars!

Color.

Lots and lots of color!

Very fun log cabin quilt... and do you see the little houses around the outside of it?

The close up.

Beautiful but unfortunately I couldn't get the right lighting on it.

While I was at the show I did find a nice little group of
Chicopee to go with this pattern...
this is for a future project... and not even a near future.

I also was able to see Julie aka Jaybird Quilts

at her booth in the show. She was nearly speechless...
as in horse... losing her voice, the poor girl!
I have been wanting to try out her ruler, so I picked them up along with
a couple of her fun patterns. I hope that I can find time
sometime soon to play with these. I also was able to find a
sweet little jelly roll from V& Co. in her booth too!
Score!

But this is how I am going to be starting this weekend...

Picture of Chris Isaak — Sexy mature male singer

In just a few hours I will be listening to Chris Isaak.
I was going to link to a You Tube video of Wicked Games sung by him,
but it was a little steamie!
Seriously it was hot... you have been warned.

Should be a good night!

Backtracking and International Quilt Show

Yikes, I have gotten behind on my Deck-ade B O M
But it's never too late to catch up!

I just finished the ornament row.

I love how this all comes together
and how the pattern is just so
easy to follow. The background fabric
is perfect "snow" fabric.
I am having a lot of fun making it...
I especially love the fact that I will have it done
before the holiday's!

I have to make the stockings next and
also the wreath and presents.
I plan on getting them done before the 19th,
that's when the Tree block will be released.
If you haven't gotten the free patterns yet
hop on over to FQS. I have the kit and I think it would be fun
to make just a table runner or a wall hanging from the
scraps also.
Have you seen any of the You Tube tutorials they have for Deck-ade yet?

Backtracking to the weekend event...
Here are some photos from the quilt show in Long Beach...
The modern and contemporary group...

This one is an aerial view of someones neighborhood that got
evacuated during a recent fire. The black spaces are actually
parts of the quilts that are cut out... the houses that didn't
survive the fire. The red one is marking the spot where
the quilter's house was.

a landscape...

Black and white...

and a seascape.

I am always amazed at the work of quilt artists.
