Eventide Progress Report

Would you like to walk with me through the design process?
I could use an extra set of eyes.
Here are the center alternate blocks, which make the larger stars.

Same, but with a little rearranging.
(I took this photo from upstairs looking down at the blocks)

Here I added the center blocks...
I used the Ohio Star blocks that had brown and red in them.

Auditioning a couple altnerate blocks with brown in them... yuk!
Those got pulled fast!

Ohio Stars with red in the middle positions and on top and bottom rows.
I started naming this Tsunami instead of Eventide. It just feels chaotic to me.
That's why I am concentrating on placement of the blocks.
I'm hoping to achieve some balance and rhythm to this guy!

A close up.
Ok, now, what do you think?

I like the red but happy you pulled the brown. It wasn't helping the top at all.

I think it's beautiful...I'm thinking I should start making some of my alternate blocks before finishing all the Ohio Stars to make sure I like my combinations. But really...yours is beautiful...I'm wishing I'd used Fig Tree fabrics!

Like everyone before me I agree that the red is wonderful and the brown, well, not so much.

How neat that you have enough blocks to "audition" them.

It's going to such an eye-pleaser, Sinta.

Well I guess I'm the only one, but I absolutely LOVED that brown dot star, but it probably doesn't go with the rest of the quilt, will you at least put it on the back, those dots are too cute to waste.

Your large star points don't stand up and scream at me, which I think is what Carrie intended, they are just a little sump'n sump'n that you notice after you take the whole quilt in. I think it looks marvelous and that Fig Tree was a wonderful choice for your fabric.

What a difference a background makes when auditioning blocks, those blocks look so different on blue carpet!

Great Job Sinta!!

I came to see how you had used your fabric. I have a bright floral and see it will work good. Was wondering if two Charms would be enough. Also was thinking of making it a four block instead of six. Guess I will have to plug along and start cutting. Love you arrangement with the red Ohio stars.
