Lucky Me!

Over the weekend I had been to the Long
Beach International Quilt show.
Before I left, my son came over to deliver this
table he has been working on for months for me.

An awesome sewing table!
He milled the wood from an oak tree that had come down on
his property. It's been months curing and sanding and
all those other things that get done to make it perfect.
He even went to thrift stores hunting down a
treadle sewing machine base to use.

One photo is just not enough to show how thrilled I am!

So here are some slightly different angles of it.

Eye spy a kitty.

My DIL gave it a test drive... she put her machine on it
and gave it a try to make sure it was super stable.

Lucky me!

Beautiful. I know how much work it is for woodworking, my husband being a former wood shop teacher. I've done a tiny bit with my husbands help. I love that your son used an antique sewing machine cabinet frame. Are you going to use it for a sewing machine table or an entry way table? Your quilt looks lovely behind it.

What a precious heirloom your son has created! It's fantastic. My Dad was both a farmer and a genius with wood and I have many things he designed and crafted. I cherish them all.
