Easy As 1, 2, 3

I continued to clean out my sewing room over the weekend.
But during the cleaning I decided that this girl needed a new skirt...
and it's also a good way to "hide" fabric.
I can tell you that there is a lot of 1/4 and 1//2 yd, pieces in that skirt!

I did get done with Round 1 of the destashing but I now need to go on to Round 2...
which means
I got rid of all the things I really really didn't want anymore...
but now I need to
dig in a little deeper and turn loose of the things that I know
I will probably never get to.
I did go through my magazines... and now only have a reasonabe
stack left. But even with those I think I need a Round 2.

It's like exercising...
I got started, which is well and fine but now I need to feel the burn.
No pain, no gain!
(okay that is only an analogy... I have not started to exercise).
(although I should, it could be next)!

I haven't even started in on the pattern collection.
Seriously... what was I thinking?
Way too many patterns. But they are cute.
Even though I haven't started to destash
patterns yet...

I thought we could have a giveaway today for these 3 patterns.
Are you interested?

I feel your pain on the destashing. I've been trying to do the same thing. I'm on Round 4. It does get a little easier.

And I love the skirt for your mannequin!!

I am! I love new to me patterns and all three look like winners. Thanks for the chance!

Put my name in the hat! The patterns are quite nice.

Count me in! What better way to destash than to make something and the patterns look like they would be the perfect thing to help me get rid of some of my fabric. Love the skirt on the dress form, it's just too cute.

Your mannequin looks fabulous! Those patterns are really pretty but I can't get myself to sit and appliqué at the moment. I still haven't touched the appliqué pattern I bought about 3 years ago but can't bear to part with it. Too much going on so the Georgia pattern would be out for me.

Thanks for the chance to win!

The patterns would be fun to try. Count me in on the giveaway. I wish I had as cute a skirt as your mannequin does!

I'd love a chance to win. What I need is a kick in the butt to straighten up my sewing room. Unfortunatly I need to finish a BOM, binding a quilt and finishing a baby quilt (baby due 2/21/14). Keep up the good work. ;-> Toni Anne

Extremely interested...although I am in the process of destashing myself these days, so much that I'm having a sewing room sale on the weekend!
But of course, once I sell out of everything I have to offer, a few new patterns will have room to move in! Right...?

Sherrill said...

Oh boy, I am also treading that same path. AFTER I moved, I began going thru the books, magazines and patterns. Way too many I can't bring myself to get rid of--will probably go on round 2 like you. It's TOUGH work but someone (unfortunately ME) has to do it!! Please don't include me in the drawing..thanks tho!

Wow Sinta, your fabric 'skirt' it so fun and funky and at the same time gorgeous!!! I LOVE it! What a great way to display fabric. You know what though...wouldn't a skirt made like that be gloriously fun, for real??? Okay, nuff said, except that I really need to de-clutter my sewing room. I have surrounded my self with odds and ends that are so special to me but have nothing to do with sewing, and while there is nothing wrong with that, I have let it take over soooo much of my space, that I'm stuffing fabric and sewing supplies I need at the ready in drawers. So, you have inspired me, I'm going to find a different place of honor in my home for my treasures and turn my sewing space back into what it needs to be. Thanks for that. OH, I would love to be included in the pattern giveaway though...I don't consider patterns 'clutter'... yet, LOL. I'm still building my stash and pattern collection so thanks for a chance. Big Hugs...

Love your patterns and I would be more then happy to add them to my stash. Although I think I need to add 100 years more to my lifetime to make all the patterns I have;-)

The skirt is such fun, I wish I had a lady to dress like that. Thanks for a fun giveaway too.

LOVE the skirt. Ingenious! I cleaned out my room last year and donated 4 huge garbage bags to the Veterans. I agree with your "what was I thinking?" Can't believe I bought some of that fabric. It felt so good too.

Love those patterns though! I always look forward to your blog entries.

Julia said...

Oh yes, Please! Who isn't interested in a giveaway? Thanks for offering!

Yes...those are cute patterns and count me in. Sounds like you have a big job ahead of you and round 2 sounds very painful....keep at it!

Margaret said...

Good luck with your cleaning and organizing. I did it last summer, so I know what you're going through. It took a long time (I also cut up my scraps into usable and uniform sizes), but it is SO worth the effort.

Cheryl said...

I love the "skirt" you made, so cute! Thanks for the chance to win the patterns.

Destashing, yup... My cupboard is bursting and in need of destashing! We usually sell (and buy) fabric in my local quilt guild, a few times per year. Unfortunately I sometimes come home with just the same amount of fabric ( to tell the truth... More ;o)

I'd love to win....working with my daughter who is new to quilting, so I'd pass them on to her as she's just graduated and is still looking for a job!
