A change is in the air
and
I have been trying to get my head
wrapped around my
annual retreat and all of my
preparation towards that.
The retreat is towards the end of October
and even though I teach a
couple of projects over that weekend
I like to bring something to work on also.
This year I thought it would be a good time to
release my inner Knotty Girl!
Have you seen this?
There is a new book that has
been released by Martingale...
it's called Stitches from the Garden.
and it's by Kathy Schmitz
I have been pouring over this beautiful book!
There are lots of sweet little projects in the
book... lots of inspiration...
and as a surprise (to me) the
embroidery projects are
simple enough for someone like me who is a beginner
and I love
the
color that Kathy has added
to her projects in the book too!
(all photos by Brent Kane for Martingale Publishing)
How adorable is this?
When you open it there is a cute
oak leaf to put your needles in!
So perfect for fall... acorn and leaf!
Kathy's sweet artwork
is so nicely presented in the book!
Seriously ... don't you want one of these?
I like the instant gratification of a smaller project...
don't these look very doable
and gift-able keepsakes?!?
There is a nice variety of projects
There is a tote bag wall hanging pillow and
pincushion aside from the sweet ones
I'm sharing with you here!
These are magnetic needle keepers!
I want one of these!!! At least one!
The illustrations in this book
are beautifully done
and the stitching
directions are very clear...
I think I will only have
trouble deciding which projects
to work on first!
But
for right now...
I love looking at this book on my coffee table!!!
9 friends stopped by to chat:
Beautiful! It sure makes you want to dive in... love the needle keepers, too! I have a metal one I wear as a brooch on my jackets when it's not minding needles. I can see wearing any of these, too.

I haven't done that kind of needle work an a very very long time. I'm not sure I would remember the stitches. Does the book give instructions on stitches or should you already know them?
They are SO adorable!
Those are all projects to drool over. So cute AND practical.
Yes, I have been lusting over this book since seeing it's cover! I am hoping that I will stumble over it in one of our Quilt Shops...but so far no luck! I might have to order it!! Thanks for your review! The other book that is a must have is Bonnie Sullivan's new book...just came out called Change of Seasons...has a DDG Autumn quilt on the cover!
Such a beautiful book, I to would have trouble deciding which one to make first. Hand embroidery is so relaxing.
That book looks so nice ♥
