My LItle Sprouts

I am making headway on my Scrappy Sprouts quilt! I hope to have it

 finished. this weekend. The pattern was by Tracey Jay but it's going to have a change up

to resemble the one from Homespun Magazine.

I am feverishly working on my upcoming retreat! It's only three weeks away.

These things I am working on will be projects at the retreat.

This is a travel-sized pillowcase. I have made one of these for each member in my family but this pattern was new to me... by Kim at FQS in conjunction with Riley Blake.

I had to add this into our little group of projects...

It's just 6 1/2" but it could be so many things!

A camping potholder, a little addition of fabric on the side would turn it into

a perfect mug rug. I think it would be a great label for our retreat quilt project...

but most of all... I want to make it into a make-up bag!

I haven't shared photos  Evie lately and next to no photos of Elsea...

Here is Evie when we were at the County fair over Labor Day weekend.

And Else turned 5 months old this week!

She is just a sweet little cuddle bug!

I can certainly see how these are quaint and have charm... but 

could you, would you do this?

And if you could... could you with one of your own quilts?

Hmm, maybe there are more important things to think about...

I'm not sure I am sold on the style.

But...

Lily's. Viola's and Sprouts

There seems to be a theme going here!

Labor Day weekend is the annual County Fair.

I entered Coastal Lily along with a couple other quilts.

I was happy to see that I won first place along with Best of Show

for my quilt. 

My wall hanging got first place also and my other large quilt got second place.

It had been in the same category with Coastal Lily.

I have been so remiss about blogging that I don't think I have shown my progress

on Viola!

I was working on this with Nicole at Sister's Choice blog and Thelma...

Cupcake n Daisies blog. Thelma whipped up 4 blocks into a sweet little 

wall hanging and was finished pretty quickly.

Nicole and I are still working and making slow progress.

I am sure my progress is slower!

I haven't used Kaffe fabrics in a long time... but I always love

how lively a quilt will look using his bright and bold fabrics!

I was reluctant to use the black and white fabric... but it just seemed 

to call out to me. 

I channeled my inner Aussie and went for it!

I'm glad I did. It's kind of  fun and gives a little attitude to the blocks!

I also am working on a Scrappy Sprouts quilt.

I am using American Jane fabrics.

I am combining a couple of features from a few of the 

patterns I have admired.

This is going to be done quickly... because I will be teaching it at my quilt 

retreat next month! 

 I have a few irons in the fire right now... and don't seem to have enough 

time to come up for air.!

We all do that don't we?

I also have a quilt exhibit in Yosemite National Park that will be at the Wawona Library for 

three months. I will be installing that next week! I don't know exactly when I will

fit it in... but it's on my calendar!

Playful Petals.

The quilt above is a free pattern from  Corey's blog, Little Miss Shabby.

In between losing my sweet cat Leo and having the memorial for my dad

a sweet Instagramer, Mtnrosedesigns was having a giveaway on  IG.

She had a great giveaway of Prairie precut fabric by Corey Yoder.

She also picked me to be a winner of this bundle along with the 

other winners. 

My name wasn't drawn but she added me in because she thought I 

was a hero for trying to save my Leo from the coyote that had him.

A heart breaking story...

but it was so sweet of Donna to think I did a good job of

bringing him home.

I absolutely love the bundle and the project that she made 

from her bundle of Prairie!

This will be quilting therapy in the best sense of the tern.

I look forward to playing with those beautiful fabrics.

I can't wait to see what other people are making with their bundles too!

Maybe I will just make another quilt from Playful Petals...

every one of the quilts in the book are so cute!
