I Shamefully Admit

I have a confession...
I love BOM's. I get very excited about one starting.
(I really couldn't tell you why).
The problem... and I'm sure I'm alone here (snicker)...
is that I don't get them finished.
I lose momentum quickly. And...
This BOM is about to start... next month at Fat Quarter Shop!
So I decided, after a friend suggested that she was going to tackle one
of her "collected" BOM's PER month.
I thought I should do that too. That's right. 12 blocks in one month.
So before this one gets going...

this currant BOM is at the top of my list.
I need to get er' done! I think I only have a 3 blocks done right now,
so I need to get the rest done this month.
I actually have 1 block left to do from the 2009 BOM.

Then I can decide on which one of these...

The Rosalie Quinlan BOM.
(Yikes... what was I thinking)? I don't think I am ready yet for this applique project). But...

the Quilt Soup Mystery Quilt has started. I have received my first month project.
This should get me going on applique. and be a bit more doable for me.

This is another one that I had been collecting.
Monthly Mini by Temecula Quilt Company.
 Waiting in the wings.
So that's my goal for this month and the next month...
and the month after that if need be. These guys are getting done.
This year. Period.

ON another note...
Have you seen this new copy of Quilt Sampler magazine yet???

Cute. Stuff. Inside.

Funny...I get my blocks finished (mainly because I go to a shop each month and if it is finished the next block is free) BUT...I have countless blocks not put together to make what we all want..a quilt! That is my botm saga!

I am right there with you. I have completed 2 BOM's (tops only) and have quite an assortment of half done ones. We always have good intentions. I will be keeping my eyes out for the new Sampler...thanks for the heads up.

I love your true confession lol! I too love BOMs and have a lot in various stages of incompleteness. I just read on Anne Sutton's blog that she will have a new BOM coming out. Oh my, I can't resist Bunny Hill applique.

Count me among the start and not finish. I don't start many but I'm so tempted. I love that Quinlan BOM. It is really a stunner. I like that it is pieced and appliqued. Lovely Lovely Lovely.

I love BOM's too, especially the ones offered by the Fat Quarter Shop. I also signed up fir the new BOM with Strawberry Fields fabric. You're doing better than me because I haven't made any of my blocks with the Christmas fabric. So Sinta, no need to hang your head in shame, tis me that should be doing that, LOL.

Good luck on your block of the month. It doesnt sound like it should be hard to do just one a month but what about all the other things you get committed to and then the BOM............well you know what happens. Good luck again.

The allure of BOMs is that you figure you can get it done without a problem because you will only have one block and a whole month to make it. Of course that only happens if when that first block comes in, your decks are completely cleared of anything else or you don't suffer from Quilters ADD like the rest of us!

I succumbed to the BOM siren call and signed up for three last fall. One is currently in the works so I can (hope to?) start the second by next week (and it only started in Jan so I might even catch up!) and I have vowed (as blog is my witness!) all will get quilted up by the end of the year.

May the BOM finishing Gods smile down favorably upon us all!!!

I'm with you!!!! I have what I call BOMitis. I am right now working on The Fat Quarter Shop BOM from 2009!!!! Also have the minis from Temecula Quilt Company and have about half of those done. Reading your comments I see we are in very good company. I'm thinking this would be a good club...Finish Up Our BOM's!!!!!

I'm definitely a BOM addict too...I have been trying to limit myself to one at a time...and FQS always seems to draw me in...the next Designer Mystery was too cute too pass up...plus Strawberry Fields is my favorite Fig Tree line ever!

I HAD completed BOM project really well until recently, where I got involved in 5 BOM's all going at the same time. Now I'm behind on 3 of the 5, so at this point I'm going to wait until those 3 are totally done, then finish them up...but like you, I LOVE BOM projects and have signed up for the new one next month at FQS - never learn do we????

I like the idea of having more than one block at a time. There are months when I can zip through several at once and other months where I cannot finish the one I have. Perhaps they should give us all the blocks at once with a year to finish!!!

I have a BOM that is from 2003. I started it with my Mother and she passed away. I pull it out every now and again but cannot for the life of me bring myself to finish it!!

I love reading how almost everyone else has unfinished BOMs...I thought I was alone :) Do they suck you in, but I love your plan. Maybe you should do a BOM sewalong? Have a great weekend!

The projects, the fabrics, the patterns just seem to get better and better! How are we to choose? There just aren't enough hours in the day to do everything I want to do.....so I just do what I can.

I wanted to do the 2011 BOM from FQS but I haven't finished the 2010 either so I'm not doing it. I am 4 blocks behind with that one. Plus the layer cake BOM that was free online... I'm 6 blocks behind there. YIKES! I better stop complaining that I have "nothing to do!!"
