Heather over at Trends and Traditions is having a blogiversary. It's her first! And she has wonderful giveaways... like this quilt! Are you kidding me! She is giving away one of her quilts! Well, I have my name in... I think I'm number 658 but you know what they say...

It is nice to just go wish her a happy anniversary too. I love her booklets and patterns. I actually am about to do the binding on one of the quilts from her Fat Quarter Five book.

We are quickly approaching the first of September and I thought it would be fun if I showed you my charm! Well, I might be lacking there... but I do have charm packs!

could it be a Schnibbles project?

Ummm, this looks like the start of a Schnibbles project. But that's all I'm going to show you!

I just got a package in the mail from Bunny Hill. She has these wonderful spools for sale on her web site. I have a small collection already that are displayed on my shelves. I have my Moda twill tape from unwrapped bundles on them and also ric rac and other trims. I have some cleaning up to do so I can find these spools a new spot.

My friend Sharon gave me this sweet little pincushion pattern/kit when I went in to the local bank where she works. Fun woolies! It's a Bird Brain Designs pattern. Oh, and look... can you see the wooden spools in the pattern picture?

Yesterday I had lunch with my friend Patty and she had made a sweet little pincushion for me. It is so adorable. The fabric is too sweet and the buttons are just perfect. I love pincushions!

She also had a show and tell of a quilt she just finished. It's the American Jane Triple Crown pattern. It is just precious in these "summerie" colors! I had to take a picture to show it to you.

One Fish, Two Fish... Green Fish!

I was on a mission today. I was out looking for a vintage hat. I collect hats but this one is going to be for my sister. (A peace offering/I'm a middle child). She rides horses and when she does the horse/carriage competitions she wears vintage hats. I was thinking this would be pretty easy... the town I live in use to have a plethora of antique shops. The town use to hold a huge antique fair twice a year... the whole town was closed down for this event. It still has thrift shops, ( not any antique shops anymore) but evidently things are still priced for that "earlier" period.

Anyway, I wasn't able to find a nice hat but I did find this hat box that I thought I could put one of my hats into for her. It's from an old millinery shop located in Fresno... and that's where she lives! I also found a good little deal on this old barkcloth purse... isn't it cute?

I got a little package in the mail the other day and wanted to show you the goodies I received. It isn't a good picture but it will assist the story.
Beverly has been coming to my annual quilt retreat at Bass Lake. Last year we had a special evening, we called it Pincushion Diaries. Everybody brought a pincushion and told a story about how they started sewing, who influenced them etc. It was a great evening and everybody got to know each other better. There was a special voting for the best pincushion, which Beverly won. We all loved her pincushion, which was 3 green fish on a stringer. It was so cute... and now she wrote me a pattern and even sent the fabric and string so that I can make one of my own. That was so sweet of her! I can't wait to make it and show you the finished product.
I still remember how she ended her story of how she began to quilt... "and that was it, it got me- hook-line and sinker"! It was great! I can't wait to see her and her buddies again!

I Heart Pincushions

Sure, she looks innocent enough but...

Somebody had a productive weekend... and it wasn't me! Look at this scrap bag... medium sized for a busy quilter. I wish you could see the top part- it is a pincushion with the cutest stacked buttons on it. Then that certain somebody showed me her block #4 of the Bunny Hill BOM, which I am now behind on!

That certain somebody is my friend Patty. We had lunch together yesterday... boy an hour can go by f-a-s-t!

Oops! The other bunny photo disappeared, and now I can't get it in the right spot! And how cute is this... it's from another Bunny Hill pattern. I just love pincushions!
