Sewing & Still Time To Play

I was able to get a few things done over the weekend and still have time to play.
I cut out & pasted my words "Quilt & Sew". I haven't gotten them hung up on the wall in my sewing room yet - I think it's a two person job... I will have to enlist help.

On Sunday we did make it over to the lake for lunch. Now, it really isn't about the food so much as the nostalgia and the fact that it's your duty as a local to go! Simple as that.
Yes the food is good to, but how often do you get excited about ordering a hamburger?
It's really like stepping back in time to the late 50's or early 60's and being a part of something simple and part of a small community. Does that make any sense?
The lake is really quite still and the water level isn't very high... (the picture in the last post was from last year). The boats aren't even allowed in their mooring spot until April 1st. So the docks are empty. Of course we don't get ours because of the dam work (hehe) they are doing... the water level will be kept lower and our spot was nixed for a couple years. I wrote about it last year. In a nutshell... we were on the wait list for 13 years. Got a spot for our little boat. The next year California decides it needs to do dam work and we're back out again!
Now what I am really excited about is to tell you that I spent Saturday with Camille from Thimble Blossoms... well, OK, I'm fabricating a bit... what I mean is that I spent Saturday making this Jelly Filled pattern by Thimble Blossoms.
What a fun pattern- a no stress project! I enjoyed the process and the
instant gratification! Now I still have to add the borders to it, but then it's done/ready to quilt!

How was your weekend? Don't they go by so fast?
Today, just as I was feeling like I was making good progress at work my computer crashed.
The ripple effect started. (is it effect or affect?)
My iTunes were on there and photos yada yada yada...
I ordered a new computer... and we'll see what can be salvaged. Keep your fingers crossed!

Love Jelly Filled in Blush! And those letters turned out great...did you use mod podge and an exacto knife? I bought "SEW" but haven't covered it in fabric...must get "Quilt" too!

Renee, Ya's lake is beautiful, great place just to enjoy the view. Your little heehee remind me of when I was young and Mom and Dad would ride us down to the Dam. We were on our way and I asked where the Dam road was. I was small and at first they turned around with a look, then decided I just wanted to know where the road was. Don't you just love to sew sometimes without having to think hard. Beautiful quilt.

Your lake is wonderful and rustic looking. Time will pass quickly and before you know it, your boat will be out there. We can hardly wait to open our cabin for the season and drop our kayaks into the water for the first time this year.

Your colours on your beautiful quilt top are so nice and spring-like. It has inspired me to go through my fabrics and pull out a favourite pattern of mine.

Enjoy your Easter!

Happy Sewing,

I'm so sorry to hear about your computer, I'll be keeping my fingers crossed that your hard drive is salvageable!

Hey, I was thinking about your retro wedding and wondered, is the bride wearing her grandma's wedding gown? Wouldn't that be something!

The letters turned out very pretty. 'What a difference a change makes...' Oh dear, a broken computer. Never fun. Hope you can get all back that is on it.
And your quilt turned out very nice. Love that range!

Darling Quilt!! I need to try that with some scraps I have. Those letters are adorable. Included in my Christmas package from a creative friend was a letter 'L' and it is sitting on a shelf looking so cute!
