Today is the A Quilting Life blog book tour.
I am excited to be a part of Sherri's book debut!
Her book has several fun projects... they are for beginner or
intermediate quilters.
They are projects that can be whipped up pretty quickly...
perfect for a gift. I love the table runners and pillow patterns!

My friend Donna, who is the owner of my LQS
made up one of the quilts in Sherri's book out of Glamping
fabrics... for a summer time picnic quilt!
I wanted to share that with you today...
it's Pinwheel Picnic!
Sherri asked us to share a little something about ourselves on the book tour that
had to do with a quilting life. Of course!
So I wanted to share my quiche recipe with you!
My family and friends always request this for special get togethers.
I love quick because it's good for breakfast, lunch, or dinner...
indoors or outdoors! I haven't given this secret recipe out until now!
for 2 Quiche pies:
You can make the crust or buy deep dish pie crust like
I sometimes do.

Another thing, that I feel adds to my Quilting Life/home life is that I love cloth napkins.
I have a pet peeve about paper napkins... you will almost never find them at my house.
I don't really need formal napkins... but I do love cloth napkins for the table
and for picnics too!
Don't get me wrong... I'm really not a formal kind of person;
we have had plenty of good napkin fights at the end of a meal!
It helps that we have no less than 8 at our family gatherings.
It helps that we have no less than 8 at our family gatherings.
Paper napkins could never work for that!
Picnics are also a good time to use cloth napkins too...
they don't blow away!
A cute napkin tutorial is from Alidiza blog.
These would look so cute made to match a table runner from Sherri's book.
Please leave a comment and tell me, do you use paper or cloth?

«Oldest ‹Older 201 – 297 of 297Paper, by all means. Quick sometimes means messy. I've cut up all my table cloths and napkins to use in quilts. Ah, such beautiful fabric, now never hidden in a drawer, but out to see more often.
I just love cloth napkins! tgallop@mts.net www.willcookforshoes.ca
It is funny my Dad stayed here with thekids and could not understand how we got by without paper towels (we use cloth) but for napkins we use paper! LOL
Paper or none at all :-) I have never made Quiche, thanks for the recipe.
Some of both. I love cloth but have to find napkins which don't require ironing.
Cloth and paper!.
Cloth for everday and dinner parties, paper when it's lots of people so all the napkins match the tablecloths.
Cloth napkins are used in my household most of the time. Thanks for the giveaway

We use cloth napkins all the time and I need to make some of those cute ones. What a lovely book!
The quiche recipe looks yummy! Our ducks are laying lots of eggs right now, so I'm always looking for ways to use them up. Have always been a paper napkin gal, but your post has inspired me to make some cloth napkins! Sherri's books looks fabulous, thanks for the chance to win a copy.
Your quiche sounds delish! Sadly, I use paper napkins... Maybe I'll have to make some cloth ones!
Must try your quiche recipe.
Thanks for your quiche recipe. I am attending a pot luck brunch on Sunday and may have to try it.
Whoops, didn't answer the question. We use paper but plan on making some brightly colored ones some day.
We use paper, but never thought about cloth napkins not blowing away outdoors. I'm trying to be more "green" so may have to make that change.
Would love to win the book.

Actually we use both cloth and paper. When I'm thinking about it- we use cloth. Thanks for participating in the tour.
We use paper napkins on weekdays, and then on some special dates we use cloth napkins, maybe I must use the cloth ones everyday.
The book looks great! As does your recipe. We use paper napkins. When we have company I buy the nicer paper. I do use a tablecloth, but the napkins are easier to replace when they are paper :-) Thanks for the giveaway!
We use both, probably cloth in the dining room and papering the kitchen.
thanks for sharing the recipe. I love Quiche! We use cloth at our house. It is so much cheaper. I would spend 12.00 a month if i used paper. we have a family of 8 and the paper would get used for every spill. that is enough for a charm pack :0)
There are only 4 when we gather, right now. So we use paper. At least at Grannies house. Easier for her than more laundry.
I love cloth napkins but we use paper for every day.
We use paper....but I've been wanting to use cloth for ever so long!! I'm headed to your link now.
We use both paper and cloths. But, I do think we would definitely use more cloth napkins. It would be nice sewing some fun and colorful new ones. Thanks for this giveaway!
We use paper most of the time, but I do like cloth napkins. think it is time for me to make a few more!
We use paper napkins because I am lazy and don't want to add to my laundry pile ;-)
We use cloth napkins--just everyday ones that I don't always have to iron. We also have nicer ones for special occasions. The quiche sounds delicious!
I use cloth napkins. Right now they're shiny polyesther. I'm thinking of cutting down some old tee shirts to make them more effective. Nothing sticks to the ones we've got now!
We use paper napkins (if I'm lucky); the hubs just grabs a paper towel if I'm not there in time.
Love cloth napkins, like my mom. She has a large collection of cloth napkins and I find myself collecting them too. So happy when I find some at flea markets, yard sales. Will ahve to try stitching some of my own!

We use cloth napkins in our house. The my kids (aged 4 and 8) notice right away if there are not cloth napkins on the table and ask for them right away when they sit down to a meal. Thank you for the chance to enter.
I usually use paper napkins, but I dream of a system that doesn't require an extra load of laundry each week for cute fabric napkins :) Definitely going to try the quiche--thanks!
We use paper napkins. But it's fun to get fancy once in a while!
At the moment I use paper. With a five year old girl and an eight year old boy and a husband that has to travel a lot for work, I do what I can and my cloth napkins did not make the cut for now. They'll come back again probably next year when the girl is in all day grade one and I get more than two hours to myself.
I used to have a whole bunch of different printed and plain colored fabric napkins. I it a real pain to keep them laundered, so I must confess that I use paper now....I only use pretty ones though :) Ha ha!!!
PAPER napkins!!!
Thanks for the giveaway!
Thanks for the recipe. I hate to say we use paper except for holidays and then I have to argue for cloth. The problem is I can't get them out & then launder them being stuck in the wheelchair. Maybe next year in the new house???
I use paper napkins....but after looking at how easy it is to make cloth, I may just switch to the cloth. That recipe sounds yummy. Thanks for sharing.
Paper napkins for everyday. Cloth for special occasions and special friends and family. Love vintage napkins.
Thanks for the recipe I will try it
I agree with you, I love cloth napkins. This book looks like a lot of fun, thanks for participating.
I have some cloth napkins but for everyday use it is paper in this house!
I use paper napkins. But, maybe I will make some cloth ones from this post. Would really like to win the book!
Paper napkins for me. I never seem to find the time to make myself anything
I use paper napkins every day and cloth ones for special meals.
It's just me and the hubby, so paper napkins work just fine. If I did use cloth, they would have to be barbeque sauce red!
I have had cloth napkins in the past, but for some reason have transitioned back to paper. Maybe I should transition back--hmmm
We use both! Thanks for the recipe!
I use mostly paper... but have been meaning to make some cloth napkins. I have one set of 4, but the problem is they are so pretty I don't want to mess them up!
I'll have to try that quiche- it's such a satisfying meal! Thanks for sharing.
I love that picnic quilt. It almost makes me want to make a Modern quilt. Paper, hands down!
I am a paper user:)
Cute quilt!
I use cloth. I´m used to from my mother.
We use both..it depends on the type of meal we are eating..the picnic quilt looks fabulous in that fabric..
Paper, but I want to make some cloth ones. Thanks for the great giveaway!
I use pretty paper napkins for everyday and cloth for special occasions but you've inspired me to sew some cloth napkins from my fabric stash to use whenever! Will be using your tutorial for my pattern. Love that the back is lined in linen. Thanks!
Thanks for sharin recipe....have never made one...think I will try! :)
I like using cloth tablecloth's & napkins...tho we use paper napkins sometimes too...grankiddo's & pizza nights for sure! lol
We use paper napkins for everyday use and cloth napkins for special occasions.
I love those pinwheels. And your recipe is making me hungry late at night...uh-oh. Thanks for sharing!
I too love cloth napkins and most always make a set to match my placemats. I also collect vintage cloth napkins to use and for displaying. I also make placemats & cloth napkin sets for gifting. Thanks for a chance to win Sherri's book.
We use paper towels for napkins! Very absorbent. Use them to clean up anything & not have to worry about getting them nasty.
I use cloth napkins made from fat quarters. They are wonderful and last forever. Thanks for the chance at the book; it looks like a great one!
somehow I missed your entery for the tour. We use cloth napkins and I am going to check out that link. Thanks for sharing and for the chance to win Sherri's book.
I use both! Paper for everyday but always cloth for company or special occasions. The book looks incredible.
I use both- cloth for my family of 3 at home and paper if I have more than just us eating
I like cloth napkins too much nicer and less waste.
Paper for sure.
Shawn
We rarely use any, but if we do they will be paper. We do use cloth to wipe sticky toddler hands though!
I use paper napkins. Thanks for the giveaway!
Cloth napkins are my family's preference -- and they certainly add a nice touch of elegance. ... soparkaveataoldotcom
Paper. I don't really have time for cloth. Will have to try the recipe.
Gorgeous Picnic quilt and love the idea of cloth napkins there too.
Actually we are both but lean heavily towards the paper. Bad girl I know with the challenges the Mother Earth faces but there's a limit with how many more chores I can put on myself. Thanks for the chance. Jane
We use paper napkins at our house on a daily basis, but special occasions we bring out the special cloth napkins. Thanks for a chance to win this book, it looks great!
We use paper with two little ones. Just easier for now!
Your quiche recipe sounds great. I haven't made one with artichokes. I'd love to win this book!
Paper napkins, when we use them. Usually from what ever fast food chain we've visited lately! My family would just stain cloth napkins, the little monsters!
I love to use cloth napkins but I must confess that I often use paper towels instead.
I do want to try your quiche.
Love your pinwheels!!! And I must admit I only use cloth napkins on holidays and special occasions..it might be a too lazy to do laundry thing for me. :)
I am really going to have to try that recipe..sounds really good. Thank you for the chance to win the book. Oh I forgot...I use paper most of the time but on special meal we use cloth.

I have never thought about using cloth napkins. I must look into that. I will have to add them to my bucket list of quilting and sewing.
We use paper towels. I've never made napkins, maybe I will. Thanks for the link. I love getting great proven recipes since I'm not a cook. Can't wait to try your recipe. Sheri's book looks awesome and my fingers are crossed. How fun and beautiful is the Pinwheel Picnic Quilt. Found you through this hop and now following through BlogLovin. Congratulations on now over 600 posts!
Thank you for a super giveaway and a chance to win.

I use paper, mostly, but pick up cloth napkins at tag sales. I usually pull those out for company. I would love to make some cute ones!
I use paper napkins unless it's a special occaision. I have too much laundry to do already! Love the book! Hope I win!!!
I use cloth but maybe I'll start using cloth so I can make some cute ones!

I just recently saw the baby blanket made using the same method as your napkins, what a great idea! I haven't met a quiche yet that I don't like, so will try your recipe soon. Thanks!
I love cloth napkins. I use them as often as I'm allowed. If I set the table we have cloth. If anyone else sets it, we generally use paper. Thanks.
The book is amazing - I would love to win a copy! Thanks!
This reminds me that I have a bunch of beautiful April Cornell cloth napkins that I should be using.

my favorite thing about these blog tours..is that I "find" such wonderful bloggers and really creative people. Love your blog and we use paper... the whole cloth thing does not seem to work well with little ones.
We always use cloth napkins. They do a better job.
